Life and medical insurance are available to employees, as well as their dependents. Workers Compensation Laws cover City of Plano employees for injuries sustained on the job.

Sick leave is earned at the rate of 10 hours per month (15 days per year). There is no limit to the number of sick leave hours that may be accumulated.
The City of Plano is a member of the Texas Municipal Retirement System and all regular employees are enrolled in this system; employees are 100% vested in the retirement system after 5 years. Employees are eligible for retirement at any age with 20 years service or at age 60 with 10 years service.

Uniforms and equipment are provided to the Officer at no cost.
